Canada is committed to making its international assistance more effective, focussed and accountable, as guided by its Aid Effectiveness Agenda. Using this approach, Canada intends to make its international aid more targeted in order to achieve greater results.

In order to better inform Canadians of the impact of CIDA's efforts, improved reporting mechanisms were announced on May 20, 2009. A new CIDA annual publication, Canada's International Assistance at Work - Development For Results 2007, is one of the ways that CIDA will increase its accountability to the public.Through this Report Canadians will learn more about how their international investments are achieving concrete results and making a real difference in the lives of those living in poverty.
